Anneli Maley exciting new basketball talent set to make WNBL professional debut for the MAC Adelaide Lightning.
Scouted as a future Opal with outstanding performances at the Under 17 (2014) and Under 19 (2015) World Championships, Anneli will be a strong asset to the improving young Lightning squad.
Annelis’ father Paul Maley played for the Adelaide 36ers to finish off his career and is now proud to see his daughter take the next step in her basketball career.
MAC Adelaide Lightning coach Chris Lucas is thrilled to work with Anneli again and continue to develop her game. Chris Lucas who was Annelis’ Under 17 Worlds Coach suggested;
“Anneli is an exciting young athlete, we are eager for her to join the Lightning program. We see her being a terrific long-term prospect for the club”
When speaking about her game, Chris added;
“She (Anneli) is a very good athlete with an excellent personality which will add to our team chemistry”
Anneli is set to land in Adelaide on Sunday, ready to take on Townsville at home on Friday the 16th of December.

She is a very sought after talent, who turned down many other clubs to become a Lightning player, this speaks to the quality of coach Chris (Lucas) is and program he and the coaching staff are creating. MAC Adelaide Lightning play their next home game against Dandenong on Friday night 9th of December, tip-off 7.30pm.
