The Bendigo Bank Spirit has made another down payment on the team’s future, re-signing Ebony Rolph for the 2016-17 WNBL season.
The 21 year old was added to the Spirit’s list part way through last year after injury ended Sarah McAppion’s season.
Ebony is currently playing with SEABL team Geelong Supercats, which has allowed Spirit coaches Simon Pritchard, Andrea Walsh and David Flint to keep an eye on her.
“I am really pleased to see Ebony’s line each week at Geelong,” Simon said.
“She is in a very competitive environment at Geelong and must fight for every minute on court.
“We have been impressed with her improvement over the SEABL season and the Spirit coaching staff welcome her back into the team.
“Ebony has been playing hard, and now we need her to train hard and convert her improvement into a place on the court for 16/17.”
Ebony was thrilled to receive the call inviting her back for another season.
“I’m really excited to be back with Bendigo this season, as I learnt so much from Simon and the coaching staff last season, as well as all the players,” she said.
“It was amazing to learn from such experienced people and it was a huge benefit to my game.
“I felt as though Bendigo as a city was really welcoming as well, and the support around the community was great.”
