Backyard cricket is a thing of the past this Christmas holidays, thanks to the Bendigo Bank Spirit.
Why waste your time chasing balls over the fence, when you can go one-on-one with your favourite Spirit player.
The Spirit is looking for Bendigo’s best backyard basketball ring is and giving the owner a chance to shoot hoops with a WNBL star.
“We want your parents to take a photo of you and your backyard ring and post it on our facebook page,” WNBL All Star Kelsey Griffin said.
“Tell us why you think your ring is the best, we’ll judge it, and if you win, I’ll come over and test it out.
“In fact, if you bring your friends, I’ll bring some of mine and we’ll make a game of it.
“It can be in your backyard or at your local school or park, wherever you dream of making the big time.”
The competition will run until The Spirit’s final game before Christmas, against the Sydney Flames at Bendigo Stadium on December 19.
All photos and stories will be posted on The Spirit’s social media pages, unless requested otherwise. Leave a contact number or email address so you can be contacted if you win.
“The team has been trying hard to teach Joy and me how to play cricket, but we are as bad as the Kiwis,” Kelsey said.
“It’s time to hit backyard cricket for six this summer.”
