Carley Mijovic Re-Signs for WNBL19

Dandenong Basketball is pleased to announce that Carley Mijovic has re-signed with the Jayco Rangers for the 2018-19 WNBL Season.

The former Junior Ranger returns to Dandenong after a spectacular WNBL off-season in Europe, winning Romania’s Liga Națională championship with Sepsi SIC.

Carley is keen to use that success to propel her forward in WNBL19, ready to help her teammates achieve that same glory this season.

“I’ve decided to re-sign with Dandenong because I didn’t want to leave coming off the disappointing season we had last year!”, said Carley. “With the line-up we have this year we are going to be a strong team in WNBL19, and I’m really looking forward to getting it all started and producing great basketball for our fans to watch.”

Backing up a solid WNBL18 Carley was one of Sepsi SIC’s core pillars in their 2018 season. Scoring 18 points per game in their finals run, Carley shot the ball extremely well from both outside the arc and inside the paint, something Jayco Rangers fans will no doubt be excited to see a lot more of in WNBL19.

Seeing Carley thrive abroad has really impressed Jayco Rangers head coach Larissa Anderson, stating that she can’t wait to see what new heights Carley can take her game to this season.

“‘It is great to have Carley back with the Jayco Rangers, she’s a really important piece to our team”, said Anderson. “After a successful off season stint playing in Europe, Carley is working extremely hard on her game and in the gym. I am very excited to see how she continues to develop her game at the Rangers and I have no doubt we are about to see Carley at her best in the upcoming WNBL season.”

The 196cm forward has been working with former Athletics Australia head coach Eric Hollingsworth on her fitness and athletic power during the off-season, as she looks to get stronger inside the paint. These sessions with Eric have really been paying off according to Carley as she looks to complement the outside game that she is known for.

“I’ve really been working hard every day with Eric on my fitness, running technique and all round power”, said Carley. “This is going to help me massively with my ability to stay on the court for longer periods, and improve my all round game. I’m very excited and grateful to be working with him as I get ready for a huge 2018-19 WNBL season.”

The 2018-19 WNBL Season will kick off in October, with the WNBL19 schedule to be released soon. For all Jayco Rangers updates follow us on FacebookInstagram & Twitter or visit www.dandenongbasketball.com.au.
