Dandenong Basketball is happy to announce that Sara Blicavs has re-signed with our Jayco Rangers program through to the 2019-2020 WNBL season.
One of the league’s brightest stars both on & off-the-court, Sara has quickly become a fan favourite across the WNBL and we cannot wait to see her back in Rangers green in the upcoming WNBL19 season.
Working her way back on to the court after a knee injury cut her season short last year, Sara has been working hard in the off-season to ensure her body is stronger than ever; a comeback she can’t way to achieve here with the Jayco Rangers.
“Dandenong have been nothing but amazing with me through one of the hardest times of my life”, said Sara. “Their ongoing support towards my rehab and my return to the court has been phenomenal. My injury aside, I love the club, I love the girls and I love the positive environment every time you walk into Dandenong Stadium, and I can’t wait to get back out there in WNBL19.”
Currently rehabbing her knee with some of Australia’s best trainers and physiotherapists at the AIS, Sara is on track to be ready for the 2018-19 WNBL preseason as she works her way back on to the training court.
“My recovery is going super well, my three month stint at the AIS has done me wonders”, said Sara. “It’s been (the AIS) the best place for my rehabilitation, my body has never been this strong before and my knee is really handling all the pressure and pushing it’s been through. I’m so proud of my knee!”
A dynamic forward able to score from anywhere on the court, Sara brings elite athleticism and energy to the court every time she steps on to it, and her re-signing was one of our key focuses during the offseason. Elite Teams Administration Manager Trish Fallon told Dandenong Basketball that she was thrilled to have Sara sign on for two more years with the Jayco Rangers, confident that Sara can return to the court in WNBL19 better than ever.
“It is fantastic news for our club to have Sara returning to the Dandenong Jayco Rangers for a further two seasons”, said Fallon. “A fan favourite who has shown solid improvement the past couple of years, Sara has been working tirelessly on her rehab since injuring her knee last season and we expect her to be back fit, strong and ready to lead the team in 2018-19.”
The 2018-19 WNBL Season will kick off in October, with the WNBL19 schedule to be released soon. For all Jayco Rangers updates follow us on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter or visit www.dandenongbasketball.com.au
