Dandenong Basketball is excited to announce the re-signing of star point guard Aimie Clydesdale for two more years, through to the 2017-18 season!

Aimie will return to the Jayco Rangers after a solid year on and off the court, coming back strong after injury problems and establishing herself as a leader in her role as co-captain with Steph Cumming.

“I’m really excited to be coming back to play with Dandenong, especially with it looking like we’ll be keeping together the core group”, said Aimie. “I missed half the season last year with injury, so I’m really looking forward to being ready to go and hopefully having a really successful year with the girls!”

A Dandenong Ranger since day one, Aimie will return to the Jayco Rangers for her 7th WNBL season, an impressive feat for the still only 23 year old.

Head Coach Larissa Anderson was overjoyed upon hearing that Aimie had re-signed, stating that she will be ‘a force to be reckoned with’ in WNBL 16-17.

“I am really looking forward to having her at full strength after an injury interrupted 15/16 season”, said Anderson. “Aimie brings a great deal of value to our group, with her leadership, speed and dynamic ability helping the Rangers at both ends of the floor”.

Aimie is also starring for the SEABL Rangers, helping them to a 6-1 start to the season. Her ability to set the game’s pace and score in key moments has been huge for the Rangers, prepping her perfectly for a strong WNBL season.

Elite Teams Administration Manager Trish Fallon stated the DBA were thrilled to have re-signed Aimie for two more years, who has become a shining example of the strength of the DBA Junior Ranger program.

“A Rangers player who has come through the Dandenong Basketball pathways, Aimie is a great role model to all junior players showing how far hard work and persistence can take you” said Fallon. “Aimie’s explosive speed and agility at both ends of the court and leadership from the point guard position will be crucial for the team’s success over the next two seasons”.

We’ve still got plenty of signings to announce Rangers fans, including a few surprises we’ve left up our sleeves! Stay tuned…..
