Rangers Round 18 Recap

191

Despite two tough Round 18 losses the Jayco Rangers have officially made the 2016-17 WNBL Finals, with our early season success guaranteeing a top four finish!

Thanks to a Bendigo Spirit loss on Sunday the Jayco Rangers can now finish no lower than fourth, holding the season series over Canberra and a better win-loss record than Bendigo.

A tough weekend for the Jayco Rangers before this great news, we headed north for what is probably the league’s toughest road-trip, taking on Townsville on Friday and the Sydney Uni Flames on Saturday.

To our Dandenong stars credit both games were hard fought contests, clawing back to within 10 in the final minutes against Townsville (after being down 21) and just falling short to the now-Minor Premiers Sydney Uni after leading most of the way.

But in the end it just wasn’t meant to be a winning weekend for the Jayco Rangers, falling 83-66 against Townsville and a heartbreaking 81-77 against Sydney.

That’s why you have to protect home court Rangers! One tough road trip is now in the rearview, and we can start looking forward to a huge WNBL finals series. Would you like to see your Dandenong stars play their final at home? Then we need your support this Saturday!

In our final game of the WNBL regular season, the Jayco Rangers will take on Perth Lynx in matchup the could determine whether we finish 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Make sure you’re here for a 6:30pm tip off this Saturday Rangers fans, we need you all cheering and cheering LOUD!
