Rejoice, Rangers fans! Dandenong Basketball Association is happy to announce Sara Blicavs will return to the Jayco Rangers for 16/17 season.
The reigning Members MVP & Australian Opal will return to the Jayco Rangers after a fantastic season in which she established herself as an elite WNBL star.
Sara told Dandenong Basketball she was incredibly excited to return to Dandenong, praising the organisation, fans and her teammates.
“The girls are beautiful and such a joy to be around, train against and play with” said Sara. “The coaches are great to work with and helped me immensely last season, and the club as a whole is a fantastic environment to be a part of.”
“I cannot wait for next season and hopefully the fans can be just as marvellous as they were last season”.
Head Coach Larissa Anderson said she was very excited to have Sara recommit to the Jayco Rangers, stating she will be a huge part of their quest to win a WNBL title in 16/17.
“We are thrilled that Sara is back on board with us next season” said Larissa. “Sara is an extremely talented player with a great team attitude, someone that brings a great deal to our club on and off the floor.”
Sara’s growth during the past season has been evident for all Rangers supporters to see, and was rewarded with the Members MVP, Coaches Award and selection to multiple pre-Olympic Opals tours.
“Sara showed what she is capable of last season” said Larissa. (She’s) only getting better and better and will play a key role in our quest to win a WNBL championship.”
A favourite of both fans & teammates, Sara has brought exuberance and energy both on & off the court to the Jayco Rangers.
“Sara had a great season on court, but also worked tirelessly off the court for our program attending numerous promotions, clinics and sponsor events” said Elite Teams Administration Manager Trish Fallon. “A fan favourite, who brings energy, excitement and passion, we look forward to seeing Sara back on the court for the 2016-17 WNBL season in the Rangers uniform”
