What a weekend for your Jayco Rangers! After toppling the defending champion Townsville Fire on Friday night, Dandenong are now atop of the WNBL ladder!
A dominant 92-65 victory, Dandenong sent a message to the competition with a beat down of the 2015-16 champs as they won every quarter in a hot shooting performance.
Shooting a blazing hot 58% from three, the Fire found no way to shut down the Rangers free-flowing offense, with the ball zipping around the home key and finding easy, open looks.
Steph Cumming (21 points) was red hot for the second straight game and was helped by Sara Blicavs (15 points, eight rebounds) and Aimie Clydesdale (12 points, six assists), while Jacinta Kennedy added 13 points off the bench.
Mia Murray did her best to keep the Fire in the contest on 3-4 three-point shooting and Suzy Batkovic battled through a twisted ankle to post 18 points and ten rebounds but a 30-8 advantage in points off turnovers was indicative of the strong showing from the home side.
The Jayco Rangers now sit atop of the WNBL on percentage, with the Melbourne Boomers locking in with the same 3-1 record.
But that could all change this weekend, as your Rangers host Bendigo Spirit at home on Friday, and then clash with the Boomers at the State Basketball Centre on Monday. Going to be a HUGE weekend Rangers fans!!!
