The MAC Adelaide Lightning have capped off their 2016/17 season, announcing Laura Hodges as the club’s MVP at their Gala Dinner over the weekend.
The Lightning also revealed a new logo for their team alongside the Adelaide 36ers which will be installed at the start of next season.
The Gala Dinner night began with captain Hodges first being named the Member’s MVP by the Motor Accident Commission of South Australia.
Rookie Sarah Elsworthy close to being named as the league’s Rookie of the Year this season but earned her fair share of awards last weekend, winning the Rachael Sporn Encouragement Award, Best Defensive Player award as well as the Most Improved Player award.
The Coach’s Award went to Shannon McKay before the night was capped off with Hodges named as the club’s MVP, having averaged 17.6 points (fourth in the competition) and 7.1 rebounds (tenth) per game.
