When you think fighting spirit, you think Bec Cole. When you’re looking for a role model, you look for Bec Cole. When you need some motivation, you need Bec Cole.

Tonight marks a journey to a milestone that most people won’t truly understand, nor believe, but not one person at the State Basketball Centre for the Deakin Melbourne Boomers game against the Canberra Capitals will walk away lacking inspiration and admiration for Bec Cole.

Fighting back from multiple knee surgeries that has seen the dynamic guard arguably miss just as many games as she’s played, the story of Bec Cole’s sheer will power to represent the Boomers and be the best she can be is inspiring to say the least.

“It’s exciting to be celebrating Christmas tonight with our amazing fans and with my teammates, and for it to be my 100th WNBL game. Hopefully we can come out and get a win to help celebrate,” said Bec.

“I feel like I’ve been involved in many more games than just 100, but so many of them have been on the sidelines, which probably makes the milestone even more important to me.

“I just really want to thank the Boomers family, everyone at the club, our members and sponsors, the coaches and my teammates. It is such an incredible club to play for and the support everyone has shown me has been amazing,” Bec added.

Though it’s been a frustrating road at times for Bec, Boomers Coach Guy Molloy has marvelled at her sheer determination and will power.

“Bec embodies everything that the Deakin Melbourne Boomers stand for, her focus and dedication to ensuring she always does what she can to prepare, rehabilitate and overcome the obstacles she has faced is both a credit to her and all of her family and supporters,” said Molloy.

“I know I speak on behalf of everyone at the Boomers when I say we are all very proud of Bec and we look forward to ┬áseeing her play many, many more games with the Boomers in the WNBL.”

Come along and support Bec Cole tonight in her 100th game, tip-off at the State Basketball Centre is at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the door or online HERE.
