Boomers Launch Gift 4 Entry Night

The Deakin Melbourne Boomers will take the spirit of Christmas to a new level this Saturday night (Dec 19) when they provide free entry to every child who places a gift under the Bertocchi Christmas Tree.

The league’s Family Club, will deliver all donated gifts to local families and children in need via a charitable cause that General Manager, Justin Nelson, believes highlights the family culture at the Boomers.

“This week’s promotion is a really important one because it’s about supporting the community at a special time of the year, especially for the children,” said Nelson.

“We want all of the parents out there to encourage their children to find a gift, something small is ok, wrap it and place it under the Bertocchi Christmas Tree at the State Basketball Centre when they get to the game on Saturday night. We’ll then provide that child with free entry to the game and the gift will be donated to a family or child in need.”

“I’m continually amazed when I watch our players spend time in the community and embracing the importance of being a role model, but this week’s Gift 4 Entry promotion is a way all of our supporters to play a part in supporting the community and being great role models as fellow citizens.”

In a crucial game against the Sydney Uni Flames, the Boomers will be ensuring there is plenty of Christmas cheer amongst the crowd with lots of giveaways, Dexter’s World Famous Conga Line and the chance for everyone to meet the players after the game.

“I hope we bring smiles to the faces of young children in the community via this promotion. Given the great family culture that exists at the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, I have no doubt we’ll see plenty of gifts under the Bertocchi Christmas Tree this Saturday night,” added Nelson.
