The Deakin Melbourne Boomers continue to roll out a fun mix of game-night themes, this time calling on all the wannabe Superheroes & Villains for this Saturday’s game against Adelaide Lightning with heaps of great prizes up for grabs.
The Boomers players have joined in the fun with a number of them ditching their basketball uniforms for plenty of Pow! and Wham!, including a Pirate (Alice Kunek), Catwoman (Maddie Garrick) and Batgirl (Tess Madgen).
This season’s themes have included Hat Night, Purple Power Night, Bertocchi Christmas Night and Dad’s & Daughter’s Night, amongst others, but coach Guy Molloy says this week’s theme was one the players really enjoyed doing the photo shoot and promotion for.
“There were certainly a few laughs amongst the group,” said Molloy, who also joined in the fun by dressing up as Buzz Lightyear.
“Our team photographer Michelle Couling did a fantastic job co-ordinating the photo shoot and keeping everyone focused, which was hard to do given some of the antics going on. It was good fun.”
“The club has done a great job engaging with the supporters and including them in a number of activations at games.”
“It’s really important we make it the total package and produce what is a fun night out for the whole family. Our crowds are at record numbers this season, so clearly these promotions are working, which is great to see,” added Molloy.
