The Deakin Melbourne Boomers is delighted to welcome Ikon Services Australia as a Major Partner for at least the next two years.
Leaders in the commercial cleaning, property services and waste industry, Ikon is at the forefront of innovation, environmental sustainability and best practice, focusing on strong partnerships and rewarding relationships – a perfect synergy with the Boomers brand and culture.
“It’s an exciting addition to our growing group of strong, community-minded partners. Ikon service some of Australia’s most well-known operations and we are delighted to have them partnering with the Boomers,” said Club GM, Justin Nelson.
“George Tahan and his team at Ikon recognise the importance of supporting women in sport and business, they are very keen to see the Boomers continue to be Australia’s most iconic brand in women’s basketball, and one of the nation’s most recognised teams in a national women’s league.”
The two-year agreement will see Ikon Services take major branding on the team’s playing uniforms, along with decals on the show court at the home of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, the State Basketball Centre.
In making the announcement, Mr Tahan, the Managing Director of Ikon Services, spoke about his company’s professionalism and commitment to excellence as being a strong fit with that of the Boomers vision and commitment to delivering competitiveness, growth and family entertainment in women’s sport.
“The Boomers is an iconic brand, they are in their fourth decade of delivering an outstanding pathway for young female athletes and Ikon wants to support that,” said Mr Tahan.
“In particular we are impressed with the strong family values the Boomers display across every part of their operation, both on and off the court. The players and staff genuinely appreciate their partners and work hard to deliver a great product and service. Those values sit very well with Ikon and our commitment to building strong relationships and delivering excellence to our clients.”
The news of Ikon joining the Boomers comes on the back of Deakin University recently announcing a further two-year agreement as the team’s Naming Rights Partner, and Nelson says there is more exciting commercial partnership news on the way, coupled with recently appointed Commercial Operations Manager, Lauren Jackson, starting in her new role.
“We continue to encourage those who talk about the importance of supporting women in sport to step up and follow through. Walk the talk,” says Nelson, adding, “We have some more positive partnership announcements just around the corner and the Boomers are really thankful for them becoming a part of something we think is very special.”
