Alice Kunek has been named in the WNBL Team of the Week, after another high scoring performance for the Perth Lynx.

Kunek scored 25 points, including five three-pointers, as the Lynx defeated the Townsville Fire last week, adding six rebounds and a pair of steals in her strong performance.

It was the third time in the past four games that the Australian Opals forward topped the 20-point mark, and the second consecutive game with five makes from beyond the arc.

“It’s awesome out there,” said Kunek after the game on Thursday evening.

“I haven’t been part of a team that’s this much fun.”

“It’s a pack mentality. Everyone has everyone’s back, that’s what it’s about.”

Kunek currently averages 16.1 points per game, which ranks seventh amongst all players in the WNBL.

She is joined by Courtney Williams (20.0ppg, second) and Sami Whitcomb (15.6ppg, eighth) as the Lynx representatives in the top-10 of scoring.

“Everyone is really backing each other, everyone is getting after offensive rebounds and anyone on our team can score.”

Kunek will look to build continue her strong form when the Perth Lynx host the University of Canberra Capitals this Saturday at 6:30pm – tickets on sale now!
