MILESTONE GAME FOR KATIE-RAE EBZERY

October 18, 2018 | Perth Lynx news

Katie-Rae Ebzery will suit up for the 250th time in the WNBL this Sunday, as the Perth Lynx take on the Townsville Fire.

Ebzery was surprised the milestone had come around so fast.

“I can’t believe it’s been that many games to be honest, it’s gone very quickly, but it’s nice to be in a new situation and experiencing it,” she said.

This is the first season Ebzery has been with the Lynx, after spending the last two in Russia and Sydney.

Ebzery is enjoying her time in Perth and is starting to get in a rhythm with the team.

“I finally feel a little bit more settled this week, having a bit of time on the training court with the girls, so I definitely think we’re heading in the right direction,” she said.

Work-life balance has been important to Ebzery, who says it’s an important part of her illustrious career.

“I think the biggest thing for me was having life balance, whether that was being at uni or working and then playing as well, it kept me sane,” she said.

“It’s allowed me to stay in the game a lot longer than I was thinking earlier in my career, so it’s nice to get that many games.”
