Even spread as Perth Lynx douse Flames

The Perth Lynx have begun their trip to Moss Vale with a victory, defeating the Sydney Flames 85-69 in pre-season action.

The Lynx jumped out of the gates in style, with a 46-28 first half setting the tone, though a late run from the Flames kept the game competitive until the end.

The Lynx displayed excellent balance and versatility throughout the contest, with six players scoring in double-figures, while seven Perth players connected on at least one thee pointer.

Tessa Lavey lead the way with 14 points, seven assists and a steal, while Carley Mijovic (13 points, five rebounds, two blocks) was a factor at both ends of the floor.

Kisha Lee (seven points, one rebound) and Tahlia Fejo (two rebounds, one block) made their pre-season debuts with the Perth Lynx, as the new look group forced Sydney into 18 turnovers and 38 per cent shooting from the field.

The Lynx scored 26 points from turnovers, and recorded an assist on 24 of their 34 field goals; a fact that is sure to please head coach Andy Stewart.

The Perth Lynx will conclude their Moss Vale visit with a game against the Canberra Capitals on Sunday 25 September, with tip-off scheduled for 2:00pm AWST.
