The Rio Olympic Games begin on Saturday, and six members of the Perth Wildcats and Perth Lynx organisation will be there, representing Australia.
Perth Lynx captain Tessa Lavey and centre Nat Burton will make up an important part of the Australian women’s basketball team.
At 31, Perth Wildcats captain Damian Martin will realise his lifelong dream of becoming an Olympian as part of the star-sudden Australian men’s team.
Wildcats head coach is also attending his first Games as assistant coach of the Boomers.
Keeping the Aussie men’s side healthy will be Perth Wildcats physiotherapist David Philpot and sports massage therapist Sheldon Griffiths.
The opening ceremony is on Saturday morning WA time.
