- Game Night
The Perth Lynx head on the road for the first time in nearly a month, as they face the Adelaide Lightning on Saturday 12 November.
Sitting 5-2 and tied for first place on the WNBL ladder, the Lynx are looking to extend their winning streak to four consecutive games, but will be welcomed by a Lightning side looking for a big result.
The Lynx and Lightning have met once before this season, in a clash where excellent defensive pressure and high tempo helped Perth to a commanding 95-63 victory.
Sami Whitcomb, who was named WNBL Player of the Month for her performances during October, said the team is not looking past a dangerous, but winless, Lightning side.
“This is an Adelaide team hungry for a win, and we don’t want that to be against us,” said Whitcomb.
“They’ve got some really capable players.”
“Each week we just try to make it about what we need to do to get better.”
Whitcomb had an astounding +44 plus/minus in the last meeting between the sides, while Ruth Hamblin was dominant on the interior, tallying 12 points and 10 rebounds.
“We know that we have to rebound the ball, we know we have to push the ball.”
“I’m happy with where we’re at as a team.”
The Lightning will be well rested after two-week break, having not played since the previous meeting between the sides, and will look to run things through Samantha Logic (10.1 ppg, 6.5 apg).
The Perth Lynx hit the road to face the Adelaide Lightning on Saturday 12 November, with tip-off is scheduled for 2:30pm AWST.
