- Game Night
The Perth Lynx host the Adelaide Lightning this Sunday 18 December, looking for a victory to return them into the top two on the WNBL ladder.
After a disappointing loss to the Dandenong Rangers in a top of the table clash, the Lynx will be seeking to return to the winners column against an Adelaide team desperate for victory.
“No matter what game you come into you need to be ready, because you know it’s going to be a tough game,” said Lynx forward Carley Mijovic.
“I think we need high energy and staying focused on what we need to get done.”
Sami Whitcomb leads the WNBL in scoring, averaging 24.0 points per game, and will look to bounce back from her worst shooting night of the season last Sunday.
With another week in the system, and coming off her best game as a member of the Lynx, Brianna Butler could be set to explode offensively, as the Lynx will hope to use their outside shooting and extended pressure to contain Adelaide.
The Lightning enter the game without the services of captain Laura Hodges, as a result of a hamstring injury, so the interior combination of Ruth Hamblin, Carley Mijovic and Natalie Burton will hope to use their experience and set up the Lynx with a strong effort on the glass.
“Rebounding is definitely a big focus for us, that’s something that we need to win.”
The Perth Lynx host the Adelaide Lightning this Sunday 18 December, with tip-off set for 1pm.
The game will be broadcast live throughout WA on 7Two, while tickets are available here, starting at just $8.
