- Game Night
The Perth Lynx take on the Bendigo Spirit in a top of the table clash this Friday 18 November at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
The Lynx sit atop the WNBL ladder having won four consecutive games, the longest streak throughout the league this season, and come up against a 5-3 Spirit side that paced the competition throughout the first six rounds.
The matchup looks poised as a battle of contrasting styles, with the Lynx leading the league in scoring (80.3 points per game) and Bendigo allowing a league low 66 points per game.
The Lynx have enjoyed an impressive run from beyond the arc this season, comfortably leading the league in threes made, with Sami Whitcomb and Carley Mijovic ranking first and second amongst all players in buckets from deep.
However, Bendigo have defended the three ball particularly well, holding opponents to just 26 per cent shooting from deep, the best in the WNBL.
The battle in the paint looks set to have a Canadian flair, with Perth’s Ruth Hamblin tasked with slowing down Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe, Bendigo’s star import who has averaged 18.4 points and 8.9 rebounds per game this season.
At 6-2, the Lynx are looking for their fifth straight victory, which will see their reign atop the WNBL ladder extend for another week.
The Perth Lynx host the Bendigo Spirit on Friday 18 November at the Bendat Basketball Centre, with tip-off set for 7:00pm.
