- Game Night
The Perth Lynx are set for a top-of-the-table clash with the Dandenong Rangers this Sunday 11 December, with the battle between the top two sides televised live on 7Two at 1pm.
The Lynx and Rangers have met once before this season, with the disappointing road loss one of the lingering low points of the team’s season, but the Lynx are well aware of the what’s required this time around according to forward Carley Mijovic.
“It’s a massive game – we’ve been improving each week and we’re looking to get the W,” said Mijovic during the week.
“The focus is rebounding, getting on the boards and defensively we need to come out and be ready.”
Sami Whitcomb has been on a scoring tear throughout the season, averaging a league best 25.3 points and 4.1 three-pointers per game, while Mijovic and Brianna Butler will also look to let if fly from beyond the arc.
“Bri has slotted in really well.”
“She’s been finding her feet, and that one breakout game – this weekend could be it for her.”
This Sunday’s game will be the first of two consecutive Perth Lynx home games televised live on 7Two, the first time ever that the WNBL has been broadcast live on a commercial network.
“It’s really good for women’s basketball, it’s what’s been needed.”
“We want to show people what women’s basketball is about.”
The Pert Lynx host the Dandenong Rangers on Sunday 11 December at the Bendat Basketball Centre.
Tickets are available here, with the game also being broadcast live on 7Two from 1pm.
