This weekend the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames will join the Sydney Kings for a huge doubleheader, bidding farewell to the iconic Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly the Sydney Entertainment Centre), a venue that has hosted the Kings for over 200 NBL games. Sunday will mark the King’s last ever home game in what has become famously known as the Kingdome before its official closure later this year.
The Flames open up Sunday’s doubleheader at 12:30pm, taking on JCU Townsville Fire. The Flames got on top of last year’s premiers back in Round 5, defeating the Queenslanders in front of a roaring Townsville crowd 73-70. Two of the leagues best, and recently selected members of the Jayco Opals Test Event Squad, Katie-Rae Ebzery and Suzy Batkovic will face off in what’s expected to be a cracker of a game!
The Kings will then face rivals the Perth Wildcats with tip-off scheduled for 3:00pm. Kings players will sport a retro black uniform to celebrate the Club’s longstanding partnership and success at the Qantas Credit Union Arena. Sydney will be looking to get on top of the in form Cats to keep their finals hopes alive.
