The JCU Townsville Fire has today announced Samantha Pascoe as their new General Manager.

A highly regarded marketing professional, Ms Pascoe is well known across North Queensland after consulting on a number of high-profile events including the Townsville Triathlon Festival where she was engaged as their Event Director from 2014 to 2016.

Ms Pascoe performed a similar role for the Townsville Turf Club during last year’s Winter Racing Carnival and has previously served as the Events and Sponsorship Manager at the Townsville Hospital Foundation before establishing In-Vent Management and Consulting.

Ms Pascoe will link up with the Fire early next month.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the JCU Townsville Fire,” Ms Pascoe said.

“As a proud Townsvillian, I’m passionate about providing positive, healthy female role models to our community and am honoured to be able to take on this role and build on the outstanding successes of the club to date.”

With more than a decade’s experience in event management, strategic planning, sponsorship servicing and marketing, Ms Pascoe is expected to bring fresh ideas to the Fire as they chase their fourth championship in the Chemist Warehouse WNBL in six years.

Earlier this month, the Fire announced the return of three-time championship winner Micaela Cocks and are steadily building their roster ahead of the 2019/20 season.

“Sam was an outstanding candidate with her breadth of experience in event management, strategic planning, marketing and sponsorship,” Fire Chair Michele Morton said.

“She has a great platform to continue to grow our club – both on and off the court – and we look forward to working with her and our existing partners as we strive for excellence.”
