One of Australia’s most exciting country music artists, Jade Holland, is the latest ambassador to join the JCU Townsville Fire.
During last night’s season launch, the two-time reigning WNBL champions announced that Holland would join the Fire alongside NRL premiership winner Glenn Hall and seven-time major winner Karrie Webb as a club ambassador.
The Fire are expected to announce a fourth ambassador ahead of the season.
Having recently released her debut album Leather & Les Paul, Holland has enjoyed strong chart success and is looking forward to her relationship with the Fire.
“I like to be able to give back to my community and the Fire do a great job in Townsville,” Holland said.
“They’re wonderful role models for young women and I’m glad that I can assist them as an ambassador.”
The Fire announced Hall and Webb as the club’s inaugural ambassadors in 2014/15, with the sporting stars aiding their back-to-back championship wins.
Holland commenced her role on stage last night by performing for the club’s season launch.
“We’re really excited to have Jade officially joining us as an ambassador,” Fire General Manager Richard Goodbody said.
“She’s an incredible artist and is a wonderful ambassador for our city and I’m sure she’ll do just as good a job for the club.”
With the WNBL season commencing in less than a month, the Fire will get their first competitive hit out on Saturday when they host the Sydney Uni Flames in Mackay.
The club will unveil their 2015/16 championship banner on Sunday, October 9 when they host Perth in their season opener.
