The JCU Townsville Fire has today announced that Tamara Tatham will miss the remainder of the 2015/16 Wattle Valley WNBL season through injury.
Prior to the Christmas break, Tatham was diagnosed with a stress fracture in her left shin.
While it was hoped that Tatham would return prior to finals, the injury will prevent her from taking any further part in the WNBL season.
As a result, Tatham has returned to Canada to continue her rehabilitation ahead of the Rio Olympics.
During the 2015/16 season, Tatham averaged 11.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 14 starts for the Fire.
“It’s a disappointing outcome for Tamara and the club,” Fire General Manager Richard Goodbody said.
“We’ll miss her presence on the court and we wish her the best of luck in her rehabilitation, and hopefully, the Rio Olympics.”
The Fire host the University of Canberra Capitals from 3pm today.
