JCU Townsville Fire forward Cherie Gallagher will bring up another milestone on Saturday night when she plays her 200th game in the Wattle Valley WNBL.
In a twist of fate, Gallagher will line up against the Adelaide Lightning – her inaugural WNBL team – before forging her career in North Queensland over three stints.
“It’s exciting to play my 200th against the team that I started with many years ago,” Gallagher said.
“I started out there (with the Lightning) with Jan Stirling, who was an ex-Opals coach and had been around the traps, and things have obviously changed since then.”
The Fire face the Lightning from 7pm on Saturday night at Adelaide Arena.
