JCU Townsville Fire vice-captain will become just the seventh player to represent the Fire in 100 games when she lines up against the Sydney Uni Flames on Sunday.

The reigning Rachael Sporn Medallist, whose heroics carried the Fire to their maiden Wattle Valley WNBL title in March, was lured to Townsville five seasons ago under Chris Lucas and has not looked back.

Highly regarded within the Fire, Murray’s reputation as a big game player was enhanced during last year’s play-offs as she claimed the Grand Final MVP off the back of 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

“I’m very proud of the fact that I’m playing 100 games for the Fire,” Murray said.

“I’ve been able to make massive improvements in my game and take it to another level and to win a championship.”

The Fire host the Flames from 1pm on Sunday, November 8 at Townsville RSL Stadium.
