ON a weekend that is all about Jess Bibby, the Canberra veteran is focused solely on her team.

The 36-year-old guard breaks the WNBL games record, of 378 held by Lucille Bailie and Rachael Sporn, when the Caps take on Adelaide in Canberra on Saturday night.

But all Bibby, a Kilsyth junior, wants is her side’s first win of the season.

“As a kid the two sports I settled on were tennis and basketball and I chose basketball because of the opportunities you get from playing a team sport, the people you get to play with and enjoying that success together,’’ she said.

“First and foremost it’s about getting the win for us as a team to kick start our season and then the result of that we’ll get to have an extra celebration for breaking an individual milestone.”
