Lightning’s 2025/26 season fixture revealed

Adelaide Lightning will launch into the WNBL 2025/26 season with a blockbuster season opener against Perth Lynx in front of a home crowd.
Thanks to the strong partnership with the South Australian Government and Premier Malinauskas, the Adelaide Lightning will tip-off the season on Sunday 19 October at the SA State Basketball Centre.
As the first season with new Head Coach Kerryn Mitchell, fans will be treated to an electrifying match where fans will be closer than ever to the five-time champions to celebrate our proud history and strong future.
Club legend Steph Talbot will return for her 11th season, fresh off a WNBA campaign with the inaugural Golden State Valkyries.
While 21-year-old Tayla Brazel will make her fabled return after suffering back-to-back ACL injuries alongside national teammate and star on the rise Dallas Loughridge.
Our third major game will be against the Canberra Capitals in Round 3, hosting the final Indigenous Round game of the season. Dallas Loughridge recently played an important role in the Indigenous Basketball Australia Women’s All-Star Team in an epic game against the Poitūkohu Māori o Aotearoa teams, celebrating skill, talent and cultural connection.
Round 5 is a must-watch as the Lightning face off against former teammate, Issy Borlase and 2024/25 WNBL Champions, Bendigo Spirit.
In the new year, the Lightning will head west to HoopsFest Perth, playing against the Southside Flyers – Loughridge’s former side.
The last game of the regular season will be Pride Round, heading over to Geelong to face the second-year franchise in a celebration of individuality and inclusion.
