Isobel Borlase signs with the reigning champions

20-year-old phenomenon Isobel Borlase has signed with the reigning Champions Bendigo Spirit for the coming WNBL 2025/26 season.
Named WNBL Sixth Women of the Year and Betty Watson Breakout Player in 2023, Borlase went from strength to strength winning bronze with the Opals in the 2024 Paris Olympics and being named in the WNBL First-Team while with the Adelaide Lightning the same year.
She was then selected with the 20th overall pick by the Atlanta Dream in the 2024 WNBA Draft, alongside fellow Australian and UC Capitals star Nyadiew Puoch.
Upon signing, Borlase is excited to take her game to a new level in Bendigo.
“I’m excited to be signing with Bendigo for this upcoming season. I went through the process of Free Agency and Bendigo felt like the best fit, so I am looking forward to moving there and getting to work,” Borlase said.
“I’m hoping to develop my game under Kennedy [Spirit head coach], as well as learn from more experienced players, helping contribute to the team’s continued success.”
In 21 games last season, the dominant guard/forward averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists, leading the Lightning to a 7-14 record.
Borlase is currently playing for the NBL1 South’s Melbourne Tigers, on a talented team featuring Sara Blicavs, Ella Tofaeono, Indiah Bowyer and Sienna Harvey.
In six games, she’s averaging 20.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, four steals and 3.5 assists per game for the Finals contender.
