Olympian Amy Atwell returns to Perth Lynx

The Perth Lynx have re-signed sharpshooter Amy Atwell for WNBL 2025/26.
Returning for her fourth season with the club, the Western Australian junior will continue to be a go-to option for Head Coach Ryan Petrik’s offence.
Atwell struggled by her own enormous standards last season due to playing through a knee injury, averaging 11.8 points per game and shooting 28.6 percent from the arc (down from 40.1 percent the previous season).
Despite the shooting woes, the 2024 WNBL Second-Team member remains one of the league’s best scorers. According to Petrik, we should expect a bounce-back year.
“Amy is obviously a phenomenal talent, but is also a major culture and character piece for us as well,” he said.
“As our co-captain last season, she played through injury all of last season, when most players would have just shut it down, which goes to show why we have so much respect for her. We’ve all seen what she can do on the biggest stage, and we’re looking forward to seeing that in action again this season.”
At only 26-years-old, Atwell already has an outstanding resume. Representing Australia in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she took home bronze, winning the 2023 NBL1 National Championship and playing 11 total games in the WNBA with the LA Sparks and Phoenix Mercury – the sky’s the limit for Atwell this coming season.
Atwell joins Anneli Maley, Kiara Waite, Steph Gorman, Alex Ciabattoni and Ally Wilson on the Lynx’s 2025/26 roster.
