Sandy Brondello named WNBA All-Star Coach

Seven Consulting Opals and New York Liberty Head Coach Sandy Brondello has been named the Head Coach for Team Collier in the 2025 WNBA All-Star game.
The selection is yet another addition to Brondello’s already impressive coaching resume. Brondello has claimed two WNBA Championships (2014, 2024), named 2014 WNBA Coach of the Year and coached the Opals to a silver medal in the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup, bronze in the 2022 World Cup and bronze again in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Brondello is also no stranger to the All-Stars Game, having been selected, alongside fellow Australian Michele Timms, for the league’s inaugural All-Star Game in 1999.
This year, the WNBA has shifted away from the traditional East meets West team selections and focused the selections on captains.
Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier and Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark received the most votes for each conference, being named the All-Star captains for the upcoming event.
The coaches are then selected by the teams that have the best records in their respective conferences, with Brondello’s Liberty sitting first in the East with a 12-6 record.
