Southside Flyers add rising star Isabelle Bourne

June 26, 2025 | WNBL news

Rising star Isabelle Bourne has signed a two-year deal with the Southside Flyers for the upcoming WNBL 2025/26 season.

The 24-year-old forward started her journey in her home state of the ACT, signing as a development player with the UC Capitals in the 2016/17 season. After playing in the SEABL (now NBL1 South) competition for the Centre of Excellence, Bourne returned to the Capitals to play a role in their 2018/19 Championship season.

After four seasons in college at Nebraska from 2019 – 2023, playing 114 games across the Big Ten conference.

She first made her mark in the WNBL with the Adelaide Lightning, where she spent the past two seasons. In her most recent campaign, she averaged an impressive 13 points, four rebounds, and 1.6 assists across 21 games, showcasing her all-round impact on the court.

Currently lighting up the NBL1 South with Keilor Thunder, the 2024 conference MVP is playing under Southside Flyers Head Coach Kristi Harrower and future teammate Maddy Rocci.

“I have been lucky enough to coach Issie in the NBL1 at Keilor in the last two seasons and have seen first-hand her work ethic and how she just wants to get better every single day,” Harrower said.

“To see what she does week in and week out and how hard she works, the Flyers are very fortunate to have a player of her quality and work ethic, and importantly a quality person, join the club.”

In 2025, Bourne is averaging 24.5 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists and 1.8 blocks per game for the 13-2 Thunder.
