Teige Morell made history on Saturday night, becoming the first player to win three MVP awards in NBL1 history.

Also named in the NBL1 West First-Team, the UC Capitals recruit claimed the accolade after a stellar season where she averaged 21.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists for the Laskeside Lightning.

Fellow WNBL stars Anneli Maley (Perth), Chloe Forster (Townsville) and Zitina Aokuso (UC Capitals) joined Morell in the NBL1 West First-Team. Steph Gorman (Perth) and Alex Fowler (Townsville) were also named in the Second-Team.

The Perth Lynx added two more awards to their cabinet with Gorman taking home her second Defensive Player of the Year award in a 20-0 undefeated regular season, with Head Coach Ryan Petrik named Men’s Coach of the Year with the Rockingham Flames.
