Townsville sign emerging star guard

June 30, 2025 | WNBL news

The Townsville Fire have signed Western Australian young gun Chloe Forster for the upcoming WNBL 2025/26 season.

At just 22, Forster is already making waves as one of the country’s rising guard talents. With 28 games under her belt for the Perth Lynx in the 2023/24 season, she then took her game across the Tasman, suiting up for Northern Kāhu in New Zealand’s Tauihi competition.

Between WNBL campaigns, Forster has dominated the NBL1 West with the Warwick Senators maintaining her star form – averaging 23.2 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.8 rebounds.

Forster’s rise from club junior to standout star is a testament to her relentless work ethic.

She played a pivotal role as a teenager during the Senators’ 2022 conference and National Championships run, before claiming 2023 Youth Player of the Year and earning First-Team honours and MVP runner-up in 2024.

Having previously coached in the NBL1 and winning a Championship with the Townsville Flames in 2022, Head Coach Shannon Seebohm is excited to see Forster’s game go from strength to strength.

“We’re really excited to welcome Chloe to the Fire. She’s been one of the standout performers in NBL1 West over the past couple of years, and we believe she has all the tools to develop into a great WNBL player,” he said.

“Chloe’s work ethic, skillset, and potential really stood out to me, and we’re looking forward to helping her take the next step in her career.”

Forster shared her excitement about joining the Fire and making her WNBL return.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the Townsville Fire,” she said.

“I can’t wait to get to work under Shannon and be a part of such a talented group of players.”

Forster joins Lauren Cox, Abbey Ellis, Alex Fowler, Alicia Froling, Saffron Shiels, Courtney Woods and Miela Sowah on the WNBL26 roster. Follow all the latest WNBL moves via the Roster Tracker here.
