WNBL 2025/26 FIXTURE: BLOCKBUSTER ROUND ONE TO OPEN THE NEW LOOK LEAGUE

The stage is set, the stars are ready, and the countdown is on. The WNBL has today unveiled the full fixture for the 2025/26 season promising a summer of elite basketball, unmissable matchups, and unforgettable moments.
The new-look season will burst into life as the Southside Flyers face off against the Canberra Capitals in an opening showdown packed with star power on Saturday, October 18.

The league is planning something very special to tip off the season. Think festival atmosphere, legends of the game and surprises we will announce at a later date but trust us, you won’t want to miss it.
WNBA talent Jade Melbourne will make her highly anticipated return to Australian courts in what promises to be a statement game from the two powerhouse clubs.
To cap off the opening round, fans will be treated to a Championship rematch between Bendigo Spirit and Townsville Fire on Sunday 19, October.
Marking the start of a bold new chapter, the WNBL’s refreshed fixture showcases elite competition, cultural celebration, and fan connection like you’ve never seen before.
“This isn’t just the beginning of a new season – it’s the beginning of a bold new chapter for the WNBL,” WNBL CEO Jennie Sager said.
“With more games accessible live, digitally, and on television, you’ll be able to watch the best of the WNBL wherever you are. Fans right across the country will be treated to a summer of basketball with WNBL and NBL games broadcast six days a week and some really special events this season which we’ll be bigger than ever before.”

Each of the WNBL’s eight clubs will compete in 23 games across 17 rounds. Each club will play 11 home games, 11 away games and one showcase game during HoopsFest Perth from 15-18 January.
Clubs will play two games a round, instead of one, six times throughout season, ensuring the momentum never stops and the competition remains fierce from tip-off to finals.
The Finals Series will see the best teams come together in a best-of-three Semi-Finals’ series with the top two teams going on to battle it out in a best-of-three Championship series to determine the 2025/26 Champions.
Other key features of the WNBL 2025/26 fixture include:
• Round 2: Indigenous Round – A powerful celebration of First Nations culture, featuring storytelling, connection to Country, and custom-designed jerseys that honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.
• Round 14: HoopsFest Perth – All eight teams will light up Perth for four electrifying games in a celebration of elite basketball.
• Round 15: Pride Round – A vibrant show of inclusion and community, reinforcing the WNBL’s commitment to being a welcoming and empowering space for everyone.
With more marquee matchups, fan-first events, and moments that matter, the 2025/26 season is set to be one of the most exciting chapters in the league’s history.
Tickets for all WNBL games will go on sale from 5 September via official club and league channels.
