Perth Lynx is thrilled to confirm that star forward, Anneli Maley, has signed a new two-year deal, committing her future to the club through the 2026-27 WNBL season.

The 26-year-old has been a standout presence in Australian basketball since bursting onto the scene as a teenager.  Her journey has taken her from the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) in Australia, to college basketball in the US (with both the University of Oregon and Texas Christian University – TCU), and even to the WNBA with the Chicago Sky. A former Suzy Batkovic Medal-winner, Australian Opals representative, and 2024 Paris Olympian, Maley has built a reputation as one of the most dynamic and relentless players in the game.

After first signing with the Lynx in 2023, Maley made an immediate impact, captaining the team to the 2023-24 WNBL Grand Final series. In the 2024-25 season, she averaged 12 points, 12 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game, continuing to dominate on both ends of the floor. Her hustle, leadership, and consistency were instrumental in the Lynx’s deep playoff run.

Speaking on her re-signing, Maley said she was thrilled to lock in her immediate playing future at the Lynx.

“Perth has become home for me. I love this team, this city and the culture we’re building here. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but I know we have so much more to give. I can’t wait to keep pushing for a Championship with this group.”

Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, also welcomed the news.

“Anneli is the heartbeat of our team. Her work ethic, energy and leadership set the tone every day. She’s one of the best rebounders in the world and continues to evolve her game. Having her locked in for two more years is massive for us.”

Maley is the first of an exciting line-up of players to be announced by the Lynx ahead of the 2025-26 WNBL season.
