Gorman to stay with Lynx

Perth Lynx is excited to announce that star guard, Stephanie Gorman, has re-committed to the club for the 2025-26 season, signing a new one-year deal.
The 25-year-old defensive weapon has been one to watch in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), making her League debut with the Perth outfit in the 2023-24 season.
Beginning her basketball career in the South-East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) in 2015, Gorman’s skill then found her in the US playing college basketball, spending two seasons with the Utah State Aggies from 2018 to 2020, before heading down to the University of San Diego, where she played from 2020 to 2022.
Upon her return to home soil, Gorman played with the Cockburn Cougars in the National Basketball League 1 (NBL1), being awarded as the 2023 Grand Final MVP whilst leading the team to its first Championship victory. In the same year, Gorman was selected as the League’s Best Defensive Player, officially recognising her immense talent.
After beginning her WNBL career with Perth in the 2023-24 season, Gorman immediately made her mark on the team as a key player in the journey to the Grand Final series, despite injury early on in the season. Gorman’s defensive expertise, versatility on court, and leadership amongst the team lands her as an enormously valuable player for the Lynx.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time so far with the Lynx, and so I’m excited to commit to another year with the club,” Gorman said. “This is a truly amazing group of players and staff, and I’m ready to continue building on our momentum this season to hopefully work towards a Championship victory.”
Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, said he was also buoyed by Gorman’s re-signing.
“Steph is major component of our team, and was given multiple lock down roles last season. She’s the modern day 3 and D wing, who continues to expand her game offensively. So we are thrilled to have her as a part of the group for another season.”
Gorman joins Anneli Maley as the players publicly announced as being a part of the Perth Lynx roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
