Kiara Waite confirms commitment to Lynx

Perth Lynx is thrilled to announce that up-and-coming star, Kiara Waite, has officially inked her commitment to the club for another year, confirming her place on the Lynx roster for the 2025-26 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) season.
The 18-year-old forward is set to continue making her mark in the with the Lynx, following a milestone debut season lasts year.
After debuting aged just 15 in the National Basketball League 1 (NBL1) with the Willetton Tigers, Waite quickly demonstrated her dominance in the sport, winning the NBL 1 West Women’s Encouragement Award in 2023, and the Willetton Strong Award in 2024. Waite continues to build on her immense talent, with her capacity to score from both inside and long-range making her versatility an absolute asset for any team she’s a part of.
After signing her first WNBL contract with the Lynx in 2024, Waite has built on her skill immensely. Her rebounding prowess, versatility and impressive basketball IQ was displayed in her breakout Round 5 performance for the Lynx last season, where she scored her first WNBL points – nine total for the game – against eventual runners up, Townsville.
Speaking on her re-signing with the Lynx, Waite said she was excited to continue building on her game at the top level.
“The girls and crew at the Lynx have become family to me. Their support has helped me grow so much as a player, and I’m thrilled to be able to continue my development with the team. I can’t wait to keep building on our skill and working toward a Championship together.”
Lynx head coach, Ryan Petrik, added that he was thrilled to have Waite on board for another season.
“Kiara’s been someone we’d kept tabs on for a while, and it was great to see her step up to the WNBL level last season. Every time she hit the court last season we were impressed – particularly given just how young she was at the time. We’re looking forward to seeing her game continue to grow and evolve in 2025-26.”
Waite joins Steph Gorman and Anneli Maley as players currently announced on the Lynx roster for the 2025-26 WNBL season.
