Perth Lynx appoint Chris Earl as new General Manager

Perth Lynx is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Earl as the club’s new General Manager.
With deep roots in the local sports and business community, Earl brings a wealth of leadership experience and a passion for growing elite women’s basketball in Western Australia.
The Kiwi-born sports administrator has held senior roles across sports marketing, commercial strategy and operations, and joins the Lynx at a pivotal time as the club continues to build on its strong WNBL presence and community impact.
Earl has extensive experience working in the WA sport and recreation section, most recently, at the University of Western Australia in the role of Senior Manager, Performance Sport. Prior to that, Earl had an eight-year tenure at Curtin University, working across various roles in sport and recreation.
Earl said he was excited to embark on a new adventure with the Lynx.
“I’m incredibly excited to join the Perth Lynx and contribute to the growth of women’s basketball in Western Australia. This club has a proud history and a passionate community behind it. I’m looking forward to working with Ryan, the players, and our dedicated team to build something truly special for our fans and the wider WA basketball family.”
Richard Simkiss, CEO of SEN Teams – who is a co-owner of the Perth Lynx – welcomed Earl’s appointment.
“Chris is a proven leader with a strong commercial acumen and a genuine connection to the Perth community. His appointment is a major win for the Lynx and for basketball in WA.”
Co-owners Jodi Millhahn and Christian Hauff echoed Simkiss’ comments.
“Chris is not only a seasoned executive, but he knows Western Australia and our community well. He understands the unique spirit of this community and the pride we all share in seeing WA teams succeed on the national stage. His local knowledge, relationships, and passion for growing the game here in Perth make him the perfect fit to lead the Lynx forward.”
Earl will commence his role the week beginning Monday 9 June, working closely with head coach, Ryan Petrik, and the broader team to prepare for the 2025-26 Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) season.
