Flyers sign young rising talent haylee andrews

The Southside Flyers are thrilled to announce the signing of Haylee Andrews, a point guard playmaker known for her court vision and scoring ability, to a two-year contract.
The signing will bolster the Flyers’ roster of young talent. While Andrews is still early in her professional basketball career, she has significant upside that will help the Flyers return to winning form for the 2025-26 WNBL season.
The opportunity to continue her development under the Flyers’ Head Coach Kristi Harrower and working alongside Maddy Rocci were two of the main reasons Andrews signed with the Flyers. As a young player, she looked up to Kristi and followed the career of one of Australia’s premier point guards and has seen firsthand how Maddy Rocci has continued to build her game.
When asked how she’s feeling about playing with a new group, Andrews expressed that she’s
“Excited to play with a new group!
“I think basketball allows you to create friendships that go further than just on the court. I’m excited to be around good people, but also learn from my new teammates as well.
“Playing under one of Australia’s greatest point guards and supporting one of the premier guards in the WNBL will be great for my continued development,” Andrews added.
Andrews time in the WNBL began in the 2016/17 WNBL season, where she was signed as a development player with the Townsville Fire. She spent two seasons as a development player before starting her impressive college career with the University of Portland. Her leadership and playmaking skills were instrumental in the Portland Pilots’ success during her time there and has helped shape their basketball program to what it is today.
Following her college career, Andrews signed with the Adelaide Lightning for the 2024-25 WNBL season. She hit the floor in 20 games, averaging 4.1 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 rebounds per game, showcasing her ability to contribute across multiple facets of the game.
Haylee is currently playing for Sandringham in the NBL1 South competition, where she has been playing a crucial role running the floor and averaging 13.8 points, 4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Harrower is thrilled on the addition of Andrews to the squad, saying
“Haylee will bring energy and enthusiasm to the Flyers. As a backup point guard to Maddi Rocci, she brings her basketball IQ and strategic insight into the game.
Haylee has the ability to read the court; she is a great distributor and will play an important role for the team and for her teammates.
She is a quality young person, and her dedication to continuous improvement and eagerness to learn will ensure she plays an important role in the growth of the team,” Kristi said.
Andrew’s experience and skillset will complement the Flyers’ lineup and contribute to a more solid offensive and defensive presence on the court for the 2025-26 WNBL season.
