Flame #200 Froling returns to Hoops Capital

Sydney is excited to welcome back Flame #200 Keely Froling to the club for the WNBL26 season.
Froling, who joins the Hoops Capital club on a one-year deal, becomes the sixth player signed to Guy Molloy’s roster for the coming season, joining Lauren Nicholson, Shaneice Swain, Emma Clarke, Agnes Emma-Nnopu, Carla Pitman and the newly signed Grace Berger.
The 29-year-old Froling, who played with the Flames from 2021-23, is excited to return to the harbour city.
“I want to be on a team that’s successful, and I can see that in Sydney, especially with the way the team, led by Guy, played last season despite all of their adversity,” said the Australian Opal.

“Add in the fact I enjoyed my first stint in Sydney’s professional environment and the move just felt right, and I’m really excited how it’s fallen into place.”
Born in Townsville, Froling has spent time with her hometown Fire, the UC Capitals (whom she won two championships with), Melbourne Boomers and Geelong United in the WNBL, highlighting how valuable she can be to Molloy’s side.
“I always feel I play my best basketball when surrounded by good players, and that’s exactly what we have in Sydney,” said Froling, who is confident the Flames can be a top defensive side in WNBL26.
“The squad we have assembled all like to play hard and leave it all out on the court, which I know will be part of our identity this season.
“One person in particular I know that plays with plenty of energy each time she steps on the court is Loz Nicholson, who is a player I’ve always admired and have had the honour of playing alongside for the Opals – so I’m really excited to team up with her in Sydney.”

Coach Molloy is thrilled to add the two-time FIBA Asia Cup bronze medallist to his squad for the 2025-26 campaign.
“I’ve always admired Keely as a player and tried to keep her in Sydney when I first arrived, which wasn’t meant to be, but now I’m really excited that she’s decided to come back,” Molloy said.
“Her leadership, competitive nature, toughness, work rate and aggressiveness in attacking both the ring and rebounds are qualities she brings to the table in spades and all ones I rate highly – especially as I felt we lacked a little in those areas last season.
“Further to that, she’s so reliable and you know exactly what you get every time she steps on the court.
“For all those reasons, and more, I believe she is going to be a very valuable piece to our squad this season.”
