Garlepp’s Gems outlast France in World Cup thriller

Sydney Flames’ Renae Garlepp and her Australian Gems have made it two wins from as many matches at the FIBA under 19s World Cup in the Czech Republic.
After defeating Brazil in their tournament opener, the Gems, which also features Flame #228 Bonnie Deas, edged France 70-66 on Tuesday evening.
France led 25-24 after a high-scoring first period before Australia won the next two quarters (14-10 and 21-15 respectively), to hold a lead going into the fourth term.
