Pitman enjoying challenge of taking game to next level

In her first season as a fully contracted player in the WNBL, Carla Pitman has well and truly shown she belongs.
The NSW junior was a development player with the Hoops Capital club in WNBL24 before spending the off-season with the Harvey Norman Future Flames program.
“This year has definitely been a big step up for me, especially physically but also with the intensity I need to bring each time I step on the court,” Flame #223 Pitman said.
“I’ve loved the challenge of taking my game to the next level, which has been assisted by learning from players such as Cayla George and Tess Madgen last season.
“Being able to learn and play with them is a dream come true.”

Pitman and her harbour city side are now finalising preparations for their round seven showdown with Geelong United on Saturday.
“We’ve really come together well as a team over the past few weeks and I’m confident we can keep that trajectory going this Saturday in Geelong,” the 20-year-old said.
“We’re all happy to do whatever it takes to win, which has seen me play different positions and roles on the court to benefit the squad.
“Especially working with a coach like Guy [Molloy], who is a great communicator and puts us in the best position to succeed on the court.”
Saturday’s match tips off at 7.30pm on 9Now.
