TOWNSVILLE FIRE SECURES PROMISING TALENT DAKOTA CRICHTON FOR 2025/26 WNBL

The Townsville Fire is excited to announce the signing of emerging forward Dakota Crichton for the 2025/26 WNBL season. At just 20 years old, Crichton has already demonstrated significant potential in the league. Standing at 185 cm, she brings versatility and a strong presence on both ends of the court. During her tenure with Geelong United, she showcased her capabilities, notably leading her team with 19 points and 9 rebounds at HoopsFest preseason tournament last season. Crichton’s addition aligns with the Fire’s commitment to nurturing young talent and building a dynamic roster for the upcoming season. Head Coach Shannon Seebohm expressed enthusiasm about the new signing: “We’re thrilled to welcome Dakota into the Fire program.
“She’s a young athlete with incredible raw athleticism and the potential to become an elite defender in the WNBL. My staff and I are really looking forward to working with her and helping her grow within our system. She has all the tools to develop into a high-impact player in this league.” Crichton shared her excitement about joining the Fire:
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Townsville Fire this season! Competing at this level is a dream come true. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to grow both on and off the court alongside such a talented group of players and an exceptional coaching staff.” As the Fire prepares for the 2025/26 season, Crichton’s signing adds depth and energy to the squad.
